Awarded the Moran of the Burning Spear(MBS) by the President of Kenya for Environmental Efforts. Also awarded the Head of State Commendation (HSC) by the President of Kenya for Exemplary work in Sports and Environment Management. A Tree Ambassador - Total Oil Company through the prestigious Eco-challenge Campaign. Under his leadership, Green Africa Foundation has managed to plant over 20 Million trees over the last 10 Years, setting a record. Endeavors to passionately create opportunities for sound green businesses to smoothly venture in Africa.

Mr. John Kioli

Executive Director

The Executive Director Green Africa Foundation and the Chairperson Kenya Climate Change Working Group. He has conducted successful Research on the impacts of Climate Change on key thematic areas that informed the Kenya Climate Change Act, Facilitated several extensive grassroot sensitization and consultation meetings on Climate Change and the Climate Change Bill. Mr. John Kioli was appointed by the President of Kenya as a Member of the National Climate Change Council. He was part of The Glasgow Climate Pact which is an agreement reached in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in 2021. The agreement is the first to specifically plan to minimize unbated coal use. He has a background in Masters of Environmental Studies (Climate Change and Sustainability) from Kenyatta University. By his exceptional Leadership, personal initiative and total dedication to Environmental Conservation and Climate Change issues, throughout his environmental conservation efforts he has achieved much adding value to many lives at grass root levels and to the country’s development agenda through issues that addresses Sustainable Development Goals towards the realization of vision 2030 and Sustainable Energy for All.

Mary Mutemi

Programs Manager

Mary is a qualified professional experienced in Research, Project Management, and Monitoring & Evaluation. She is a solution provider in the fields of Agriculture, Environment, and Climate Change with an in-depth understanding of climate change issues, project planning and design, management, implementation, stakeholder engagement, data management, and M&E. She is trained in process mapping and documentation and M&E. She has a Master's degree in Development Studies, Major Project Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Agroforestry and Rural Development. She has served in different capacities; as a Researcher, M&E specialist and programme manager. "I am self-motivated and a team leader who aims to achieve the set objectives and add value to the system I work by being enthusiastic and passionate", she says

Monika Masinzi

Accountant

Monika is an experienced accountant with over 7 years of experience with a background in Economics and statistics from Kenyatta University. She is currently the accountant and the administrator of Green Africa Foundation Nairobi, Kenya. Monika helps in evaluating financial operations to recommend best-practices and processes, identifying issues and strategize solutions, and this helps the organization run efficiently. Through this platform, Monika has overtime learnt and developed passion and interest for environmental conservation hence she has curated several environmental initiatives including reforestation efforts and campaigns to encourage adoption of green solution.

Brian Omenyi
Brian Omenyi

Associate Consultant

Mr. Omenyi has vast expertise experience in environmental conservation and governance, energy advocacy, capacity building, and community development. He has competency in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation, communications, reporting, and data management. He has previously implemented donor projects funded by development partners such as USAID, WWF-Kenya, and Isuzu East Africa. Mr. Omenyi will support the lead team in community engagements, capacity building for the policymakers, and support in the overall implementation of the project. The officer holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies with a specialization in Environmental Education

Projects Assistant

Waiganjo Michael Njoroge is the Projects Assistant, Energy, at Green Africa Foundation with a background in Environmental Planning and Management. He is specializing in Climate Change Science and Negotiations, and Human Impacts of Climate Change. Njoroge is a UNIDEP Certified Young African Climate Change Negotiator. He is passionate about low carbon development, a low carbon economy, and Sustainable and Just Economic Systems. He has expertise in the Green Building Standards. He serves diligently in executing projects and in project implementation.

Assistant Project Manager-Climate Change

Over time Dianey has gained a comprehensively thorough understanding of climate change issues, project planning and management, policy lobbying, community sensitization, awareness and resource mobilization, work plan development, and project monitoring, among other areas of expertise. She is a lady with passion and love for the environment. With excellent communication skills and experience in environmental education, capacity building, biodiversity and ecosystem conservation, animal welfare, climate change mitigation and management. Championing for clean and affordable energy. Dianey has a background in environmental education. In her previous and ongoing engagements at the national and grassroots levels, she has worked diligently to plan and implement a successful sequence of environmental projects.
