Green Africa Foundation partners with youth organizations to raise awareness on Non Motorized Transport in Nairobi

Green Africa Foundation commemorated Earth Day 2014 on bikes! Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The foundation in collaboration with the youth who organized Earth Race 2014 edition raised their voice on the need to embrace green mobility for sustainable green cities. Over 100 cyclists took part in the auspicious event held at Karura Forest Environmental Education Trust Center. The elite cyclists took a 65KM professional circuit of on road and off road challenges while fun racers did a 24KM circuit within the Karura forest. The event aimed at promoting cycling for low carbon development towards green cities with a focus of Nairobi. Present to flag off the event were Kiambu County Executive in charge of Youth affairs Mr. Waihenya, Green Africa Foundation Executive Director Mr. Kioli and a host of other guests.
