The Greensteds International School environmental services learning team in partnership with the AAR 4H Nakuru organized an environmental Day on Friday 19th November 2021 with the theme "together we can make a difference". The event was launched by the school principal, AAR and Green Africa Foundation where each planted a symbolic tree. As a stakeholder in environmental conservation and tree growing, Green Africa Foundation was invited to guide the students and the entire school fraternity on "how to grow a tree". The school's environmental day aimed at promoting environmental conservation activities by the students. Green Africa Foundation was privileged to give the students an insightful talk on Greening Africa through Tree Planting for Social-Economic Benefits.

Students from the age cohort of 12, 11 and 7 years were given an opportunity to showcase their passion on matters environmental conservation, afforestation and climate change through poems, PowerPoint presentations and environmental quiz games. The school principal together with AAR 4H coordinator officially launched the Greensteds International School Eco posters, that would act as pointers and reminders about saving energy, water, tree planting and the art of nurturing the trees to maturity within the school and at home.

Green Africa Foundation runs a program referred to as Plant Your Age Initiative whereby they encourage individuals, corporates, institutions and governments to plant trees as they celebrate age, anniversaries, products and commemorations. The school students and teachers were encouraged to each adopt a tree and nurture it to growth through watering and protecting it.

Green Africa Foundation called up on all stakeholders to take part in tree planting while instilling a culture of tree planting to the students so that they can grow with it as part of their life.
